The Cross at Kingussie is a 5 star rated restaurant with eight bedrooms set at the heart of the stunning Cairngorm National Park in the Scottish Highlands. We won the coveted “Good for the Soul” Award for 2007; we have three AA rosettes for food, and we are rated as one of the best six Highland restaurants by the Good Food Guide.

General Assistant

We have a vacancy for someone who is available from June until at least the end of August 2008, perhaps longer. This would be a great development opportunity for someone wanting to make a name for her or his self in the hospitality industry or an ideal summer job for a student.

This position would also suit an individual who’d like to work hard but still have time to see some of Scotland. The successful candidate will work in all areas of this small operation in supporting the owners to ensure that the highest standards of quality and hospitality are provided to our guests. They will be as comfortable with cleaning the bedrooms as serving the wines from our award winning list.

Assistant Chef

We would also love to hear from someone who is passionate about food, someone who can cook a great breakfast, can support our existing kitchen team and is willing to learn a bit about high quality ingredients and how we prepare them.

All candidates must be fluent in English, ready to work with real enthusiasm and attention to detail, and have had experience of working in a quality environment. Applications must be made by e-mail or letter and accompanied by a photograph and two references. No couples please.

In return we offer a friendly working environment, full induction and training, and a good rate of pay for a five day week.
