Vacancy Description: Kitchen and Restaurant Assistant

Start Date: 24th May 2008 and could be permanent not just seasonal

Hourly Pay Rate/Salary: £5.52 GBP per hour

Working Hours: around 40 hours per week but possibly more hours at busy times

Holidays: pro rata 24 days per year

Accommodation: provided on basis of 2 sharing a twin room for which the charge is small presently £2 per night.

English Language Requirements: Czech Match Level 3-4 or better
5: totally fluent, both written and oral including reading, people can really think in the language
4: very good (also upper intermediate to some of you) generally almost fluent, speaks well, reads and writes very well, but probably still thinks in own language and then translates in head into English
3: reasonably okay, can speak, possibly write and certainly can read, good enough for the average citizen to understand and be understood
2: some use, can speak enough to get by and maybe can read some but probably cant write it
1: has a few phrases or can ask a few things, say please and thank you etc but possibly cant either read or write, probably a beginner or been on holiday in the past.

The clients own and run a restaurant in the village of Fort Augustus at the bottom of Loch Ness, approximately 60 kms south-west of Inverness. The candidate would become a vital part of a small hard working team. The client’s standards are extremely high in all aspects of their operation. A female is essential due to the existing staff and living arrangements. They need a third person with excellent English, smart appearance and good work ethic. Kitchen experience is necessary but they would probably prefer some experience of working in the UK in the past if possible.

The intention is that the candidate will assist the owner and his wife and chef in the kitchen, preparing vegetables and salads, cleaning and tidying the kitchen, taking instructions,. The candidate would also take orders for food out of the kitchen and deliver them to the tables hence good English is required.
