Position: Hostel Assistant (Night Porter) –Inverness Group

Location: Inverness YH, Victoria Drive, Inverness, IV2 3QB

Hours per week: Up to 40 hours per week including cover at other Hostels within the Inverness Group. (SYHA reserves the right to ask you to change your normal hours of work, whether temporarily or permanently, according to the needs of the business and it is a condition of your contract of employment that you agree to any such request when reasonably made.)

Salary: £5.73 per hour

Accommodation: Live Out or Live-in accommodation available when covering there will be a small weekly fee

Scottish Youth Hostels Association (SYHA) was established in 1931 and has over 40 Youth Hostels in many iconic locations throughout Scotland with circa.300 employees and volunteers.

We are currently seeking to appoint a Hostel Assistant (Night Porter) to assume responsibility for the Health & Safety and security of guests, staff and visitors to the hostel during the nights supporting the housekeeping team when required.

The main responsibilities of this position include cleaning, laundry and reception duties. Suitable candidates will have worked in a customer facing role and will be IT literate with cash handling experience.

It is not essential but applications will be considered favourably from candidates, who have worked in the hospitality industry, have an understanding of more than one language and knowledge of the local and surrounding area.

Cover throughout the Inverness Group will be required at times. Therefore own transport will be seen as an advantage.
