The designation SLK derives from the company's design mission to create a roadster that was at once sporty, light and short — in German: Sportlich, Leicht und Kurz.

Stunning Mercedes Benz 230 SLK Kompressor in Metallic Blue. The Merc with the supercharger and boy do you notice it when you put the foot down.



The R170-platform SLK 230 Kompressor was introduced in 1997 for model year 1998 to compete with the Porsche Boxster and BMW Z3. Setting it apart was its electric folding hardtop, and supercharged engine offering performance with safety and economy. It has a 185 hp 2.3 L supercharged I4 engine and automatic transmission. The SLK was on Car and Driver's Ten Best list for 1997.

Service History. MOT March 2010 Tax 6 months. Just serviced.
Amazing drive, usual SLK refinements. Electric hard roof, no fiddly catches etc and no leaky noisy soft top here. Winter hard roof like any saloon. 20 Seconds and the roof folds away at the touch of a button for open top driving of immense pleasure.
Cost 6200 a few months ago but forced sale due to unexpected redundancy, chance to pick up a bargain. We were going to keep this, hence just servicing it. Lovely black leather interior, CD player etc, multi airbags. Carbon Fibre.

Too common in Silver, better in Blue or Black but black models are rarer than blue and about 2 to 3K more. The Blue gleams a lot more than Silver, and catches the attention of all on the road. Makes it look bigger somehow, like it's big brother the SL Roadster.

We travelled far and wide to get a Blue model in this condition. Typical, spend a fortune sourcing one then have to sell it. Try getting silver to shine like this, impossible.

Not many of these ever for sale up here. You see some on ebay with horrendous interiors, blue/red/yellow yuck, this one is just plain Black Leather Class and quality.

Once you drive one of these you will not want to drive anything else. Private number valued at around 850 but will leave on for quick sale. You cannot tell the age of this car with this plate on it. Paintwork is gleaming as you see in the photos. Real head turner, looks a lot more expensive than it is. Matching Pirellis.
Phenomenol car for not much money.

With a car that cost nearly 40K new, all depreciation has been felt, it can only go up in value in the coming years.

My insurance quote for next year is to be 177 fully comp with business use so not expensive to insure.


Priced for quick sale, need the money difficult to believe you can get a car like this for less than 6K.
